HIGHLIGHTS: Johannesburg - Greater Kruger Area

Day 1 Johannesburg Arrive at any time. Welcome meeting in the evening.

Day 2 Greater Kruger Area Drive through scenic mountains and valleys, experience traditional a Shaagan dinner and dance, visit Shalati village and a community project supported by Planeterra.

Days 3-4 Kruger National Park Daily game drives in own vehicle. Optional sunrise/sunset open vehicle game drives.

Day 5 Depart Johannesburg Early morning optional guided bush walk. Depart upon arrival in Johannesburg in the late afternoon

The Masai Mara's great golden plains play host to the millions of wildebeest and zebra that migrate from the Serengeti between July and October every year. Game viewing throughout these months is exceptional, especially as predators take advantage of defenceless calves and tired herds.

However, as the Mara is home year-round to large numbers of lion, cheetah, hyena, vultures and many more animals, visitors will find safaris extraordinary regardless of when they travel. Little Governors Camp occupies one of the Mara's best locations for wildlife and scenery, nestled in beautiful forest along the winding Mara River. This intimate camp has 17 guest tents and offers 4WD game viewing, game walks, cultural visits and ballooning.

Mashatu Game Reserve is one of the largest private reserves in Southern Africa and renown for big game including elephants, giraffes and lions. Situated in Botswana on the border with South Africa at the convergence of the Limpopo and Shashe Rivers, the park offers a mix of stunning terrain that can be explored by 4WD, horseback or bike (additional costs), or on foot. Accommodation is at intimate Mashatu Tent Camp which has 8 private tents hidden amonst trees with outdoor ensuites.

Famous Hwange National Park has over 400 species of birds, 105 species of mammals and one of Africa's largest populations of elephant. Little Makalolo Camp is located in one of Hwange's best wildlife viewing areas. This small remote campe features 6 ensuite tents with indoor and outdoor showers. Activities centre on game drives to the areas much frequented waterholes and guided walks.

Day 1 Nairobi Arrive at any time.

Day 2 Nakuru Game drive. Views of the Rift Valley from look-out points.

Days 3-4 Masai Mara Game Reserve Daily game drives.

Day 5 Lake Victoria Cross border to Tanzania, camp on the shores of Lake Victoria.

Days 6-7 Serengeti National Park Daily game drives. Option to take a boat or canoe ride on Lake Victoria, or do some fantastic bird watching.

Day 8 Olduvai Gorge/Ngorongoro Conservation Area Visit archaeological site of Olduvai Gorge. Camp at the rim of Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 9 Ngorongoro Crater/Arusha Game drive inside the Ngorongoro Crater. Dinner with the local community in Arusha
