Ski Europe Holidays!

There are such a huge number of options to Ski Europe, it's almost impossible to work out where to start. Fortunately no matter what sort of budget you're looking to blow, there's cheap holidays at just about every turn.

The premier destination to Ski Europe is France with legendary resorts such as Val D'Isere, Alpe D'Huez and Chamonix amongst dozens of others. All are sufficiently high in the mountains to guarantee good snow for pretty much all of the winter season, but try and head to those 1800m or higher if you want to increase your chances of good falls.

For the après ski, Chamonix is one of the liveliest centres to ski Europe; "L'Elevation1904" is a popular bar and café packed with plasma screens showing international sports. Other top night clubs are 'The Garage', 'Cantina' and the very popular 'La Choucas', packed full of an international crowd.

There are plenty of other options to ski Europe including other regions in the Alps such as the Austrian centres of Innsbruck and the exclusive Kitzbuel, or the Italian regions such as Cervinia on the side of the Matterhorn or Cortina d' Ampezzo. Obergurgl in Austria has great red and blue runs from the highest points above 3000m, plus all the good old Austrian village stuff including big meals, beery oompah après-ski, bemulleted DJs at the discos.

Heading north to ski Europe and you can discover Norway via trains and ferries, where you can get some experience in cross-country skiing as a number of the resorts have gone green and de-commissioned their lift systems and where après ski is done either in a sauna or with a plateful of reindeer steaks.

Like Norway, Switzerland also does trains, but thankfully also does lifts. With 243 ski resorts to ski Europe, and mountain railways, the best resorts can be reached in just an 11 hour train journey from central London. Engelberg has extensive off-piste where a guide is recommended, Meiringen has near-empty slopes with soft snow and Zermatt has the nightlife; Hotel de la Poste is the hot spot in this party town.
