New Zealand Ski Holidays!

If you ski New Zealand, you'll be treated to some spectacular landscapes, daunting resort access roads and a much later season than you'll find in Australia. The best skiing is in the Southern Alps, on the South Island and close to major towns Christchurch and Queenstown.

Queenstown is THE destination for those wanting to ski New Zealand and a key tourist hub for the whole country, with something to offer everyone of any budget. Queenstown has four world class ski fields focused around Coronet Peak, with its extensive snow-making system and modern lift system and The Remarkables with a great mix for all levels of skier.

Additional activities in Queenstown for those taking a break from ski New Zealand include heli-snowshoeing, mountain climbing, jetboats and parapenting.

The après ski in Queenstown is the best that ski New Zealand has to offer, with the town boasting over one hundred licensed premises with most bars open until 5am and some even 24 hours. Many venues have roaring open fires in the winter, imported premium beers and plasma screens dominated by live international sports.

With Queenstown sucking in most of the ski New Zealand tourist dollars, other ski resorts are small but equally stunning. Canterbury also has great access to the Southern Alps but also boasts the Hamner Springs Thermal Reserve and with a growing number of vineyards, wine tasting and a range of casual cuisine.

If you want to get ever further off the beaten track when you ski New Zealand, head up the rough gravel roads to Broken River with the steep rope tow lifts and lodge accommodation right on the snow. The only way to get around this region is with the lifts, or hiking!

Ski New Zealand has so much to offer for the adventurous skier who wants to find an untouched slope in the middle of nowhere, or the party skier who likes their après ski as much as the snow.
