Czech Republic Transport Guide

In the Czech Republic, you can travel around the cities by bus, trolleybus, tram or train. You can also go your own way around the countryside on a motorbike, bicycle or by hire car.

How to get around the Czech Republic

The larger cities like Most, Olomouc, Ostrava, Brno, Liberec, Plzeň and Brno have trams, buses and trolleybuses. Prague also has an underground system, the Prague Metro. In many of the cities you can buy single tickets, daily tickets, weekly tickets and long-term travel passes too. In some cities you can even buy tickets via text message. The Czech Republic also has one of the most extensive rail networks so it’s easy to get from city to city. You can buy tickets in advance from Czech Railways, travel agencies and ticket offices. You can also hire a car and travel around the countryside on your own schedule. If you want to travel green, you can even hire an electric car and refuel at the recharging stations. Road rules are the same as other European countries.
