France Currency Guide
France uses the Euro.
ATMs are widely available in French cities and along the coastline and to a lesser extent in the countryside. If you’re planning on withdrawing money or using your credit card while in France, don’t forget to notify your bank before you go for security purposes and to see what international withdrawal fees may apply to your card.
Before you leave home, it’s important to convert some of your Australian Dollars into Euros to have with you when you arrive in France. Euros are available to pre-purchase from Travel Money Oz before you fly.
For large purchases, it’s a good idea to bring a credit card or travel card with you on your holiday instead of carrying a lot of cash. If you don’t have a credit card, consider a prepaid travel money card, such as a Multi-currency Cash Passport™, which lets you access your money in the form of Euros and other currencies from ATMs and use wherever MasterCard® is accepted.
