Dry Season: December – March

This time of year is the peak tourist season and for good reason. Precipitation falls to a monthly low of 66 millimetres during January and February, tailing up at the start and end of the season. The average temperature throughout these months is 30 degrees Celsius and the sun will shine for 8 hours each day. The sea temperature falls however is still very inviting at 28 degrees Celsius.  

Average Temperature: 23 - 32 degrees Celsius

Appropriate Clothing: Light and loose clothing, waterproof fabrics, sandals or thongs

Don’t Forget: A hat, sunglasses and sunscreen

 

Wet Season: April – November

During the wet season the southwest monsoon spoils the party. The annual monsoon hangs around from May to September however rainfall is also heavy shortly before it arrives and shortly after it has departed. Temperatures remain high at an average of 30 degrees Celsius and rainfall for an hour or so during the day is predictable, drawing bursts of sun in the mean time. September and October see a considerable amount more in rainfall peaking per month at 380 millimetres.

Average Temperature: 23 - 32 degrees Celsius

Appropriate Clothing: Light and loose clothing, waterproof fabrics, sandals or thongs

Don’t Forget: A cheap plastic poncho would be very handy if caught out in the rain.
