If you're looking for an end of semester break with attitude, an Africa holiday ticks all the right boxes. Get back to the basics on a camping safari in Kenya with full on days and relaxed fun-filled nights. Wake up at the cracker for a dawn game drive where you will be amazed at the beauty of the hippos and antelope as you watch them graze and drink at the waterholes. By night, you'll be sharing stories around a campfire and sleeping under the stars. Go on a gorilla trek through the dense bamboo growth of Rwanda's Parc National des Volcans where you can get up close and personal to these gentle mountain giants.
African holidays are all about adventure –zoom into Egypt for ancient wonders by day and a thumping club scene by night. You'll be gob smacked at the awesomeness of the Sphinx and the Pyramids of Giza and when you need time to chill out from the heat, sit back and relax as you sail down the Nile on a felucca. Take a dip in the Red Sea – it's a Mecca for scuba divers and you'll have a blast sandboarding down the desert dunes.
A holiday in Africa is a once in a lifetime experience you'll never forget – head to Morocco for some ripper ruins, the ancient ruins of Volubillis are said to be over 2000 years old. A camel trek will lead you to the Sahara sand dunes where you can camp for the night in Berber tents. Budding mountaineers can climb Mount Toubkal in the high Atlas Mountains and marvel at the majestic Todra Gorges. These soaring canyons are one of the most magical sights in Morocco and a magnet for rock climbers.
This year we'll be starting our tour off in the great little city of Port Elizabeth, a venue unfamiliar to most of us, and we are delighted that we now have the opportunity of getting to this most beautiful part of the world for a Test match. Then of course the world famous Garden Route - the scheduling has not yet afforded us the opportunity of travelling along this stunning coast line, so this is something we are keenly looking forward to.

And if there is one city in the world renowned for its beauty, then it must surely be Cape Town where we will get to enjoy sightseeing of the Paarl Valley winegrowing region, Table Mountain and the Western Cape. But just as impressive as these locations is our wonderful accommodation, the Vineyard Hotel. Sitting on the back patio at breakfast, just staring up at Table Mountain, is an experience in its own right, and one we highly recommend to everyone.
