For a slower pace, take a felucca on the Nile at sunset followed by dinner at one of the fabulous restaurants and stalls that line the banks.
Cairo is one of the oldest cities in the world and enjoys a vibrant night life with a huge variety of trendy bars, discos, nightclubs and karaoke clubs. The Brits who come over party hard, raging the night away. But remember in this mainly Muslim country that modesty is valued.
Explore the ancient ruins at Luxor, see the famous Sphinx at Gaza and witness a stunning sunset from the Pyramids. You don't have to be an archaeologist to lose yourself in the spirituality of the ancient Egyptians.
