Middle East holidays are bumper packed with ancient wonders and modern marvels. Egypt is mega cool and if you like pyramids, tombs and dunes you're totally sorted. The Pyramids of Giza are awesome with the Sphinx a breathtaking sight, the tombs are spectacular and abundant in number - King Tut's sarcophagus is a must see. Camel treks are very popular and a fun way to see the beauty of the desert. The White Desert trek in particular is magnificent; camp under the night sky and be entertained by shooting stars while the moonlight turns the sand luminescent. Watching the sun rise over the white rocks is a magnificent sight you won't forget in a hurry and you'll be amazed that the unique rock formations in the shape of mushrooms, camels and birds are in fact chalk.
Holidays in the Middle East can encompass more than relics and ruins though; Dubai is a modern Mecca of glitz and glamour that will leave your head spinning in its excess. High rise hotels perch above pristine beaches where you can jet ski, water ski, paraglide, wind surf and more in the warm turquoise waters. You will be gob smacked at the architecture of the Burj Al Arab, the world's tallest hotel and a stroll along Jumeirah Beach where the majority of hotels are situated will provide you with an afternoon of free entertainment.
Include Petra in Jordan as a definite place to visit when planning your Middle East holiday. This famous city is carved from stone and can only be entered on mule or by foot. Tucked beneath towering sandstone mountains, the Treasury is probably Petra's most famous sight. Carved from the sandstone this elaborate façade is worth more than just a few happy snaps and there are plenty of other elaborate tombs, temples and palaces that will take your breath away with their beauty and intricacy.
