Creative Holidays

If you've got the itch to do something inspired when you take vacations, then maybe the solution could be found in creative holidays.

First up, work out how to use the camera that you take everywhere else and brush up on your photography skills. Vietnam and Tibet offer creative holiday packages for budding snappers, both holiday deals have you accompanied by a professional photographer to tell you where you’re going wrong or right.

Not got a camera but want to capture the landscapes? Look out for cheap holidays in the Dordogne in France, grab a canvas and brushes and learn to knock out landscapes, portraits and animals in watercolours, oil or charcoal. Many of the classes have English-speaking instructors; maybe the odd French local might get nude for you to paint them?

If using your hands to make something is important on your creative holidays, then how about a pottery holiday on the Greek island of Lesvos? They’ve been making pots there for 3,000 years so they should know what they’re doing by now. Tutors are available for a whole week with family accommodation available.

Think you can do better than Jamie Oliver? Then either travel to Europe and learn from the masters in Italy making fresh pasta and eating fresh truffles under the Tuscany sun or look for creative holidays back in Australia getting your instruction at the Sydney Seafood School.
