Hobart Airport (HBA) – Tasmania's Capital City
Flying into Hobart Airport (HBA) you catch a glimpse of the stunning Derwent River where each year the yachts finish at the Sydney to Hobart Yacht race, and the massive usually snow or sleet covered Mt Wellington.
Hobart Airport is 17km from Hobart city via the Tasman Highway, but only takes about 15 minutes to drive that distance. Hobart Airport is a modern terminal with lots of shops to splash some cash, as well as wireless internet connection availability.
To get from Hobart Airport into the city, pick up the shuttle bus, or you can hire a taxi or car. The Hobart International Airport (HBA) operates curfew-free as it is surrounded by a largely unpopulated neighborhood (which means you can fly in at 2am if you really want to).
