5 places that party harder than the Jersey Shore
Don’t lie to me, I know you watch it. Love them or hate them, you’ve got to admit that the gym-fit, tanned, and laundered housemates of the Jersey Shore know how to party. The Situation, Snookie and the gang fist pump and dance so hard that their underwear literally falls off – both an impressive and disturbing fete.
But with Snookie pregnant and a few of the cast mates pushing 30, perhaps it’s time to leave the shore for a new party hot spot. Here are a few of our suggestions. Cabs are here!
Next to the Jersey Shore, Ibiza is an obvious choice for fist pumping fun. The world’s party island is located in the picturesque Mediterranean Sea and is the undisputed home of hedonism. During the warmer months Ibiza transforms into one big dance party where the world’s best DJs and performers come to let loose and keep patrons dancing well into the morning and through until midday. Feel the beat and cut a rug at the island’s famous clubs including Amnesia, Pacha and Space, and don’t miss the famous sunset at Café del Mar.
Tel Aviv, Israel
There’s a reason why Tel Aviv has earned the name ‘the city that never stops.’ Relaxed and young at heart, the second largest city in Israel is home to an endless stream of clubs and bars. Tel Aviv’s international party crowd are also renowned for being night owls thus why restaurants and cafes stay open until midnight while trendy bars and dance clubs pump on until the wee hours. The key to having fun in Tel Aviv is to seek out the bars that suit your style. Techno clubs, cocktail bars, relaxed pubs, gay-friendly bars – This city has it all.
While Europe boasts numerous party cities, few can compare to Berlin’s dynamic nightlife and lack of curfews. Diverse, futuristic and at times off-beat, Germany’s capital boasts the country’s famed techno music scene, as well as hosting an array of music genres from rock to alterative and dance music. While there’s much to choose from, Berlin’s clubs are more discrete than Seaside’s boardwalk. Avoid aimlessly wandering the streets of Berlin by tracking down the clubs you want to go for first and be prepared for a big night out.
Think London is the place for a pub crawl. Think again. Reykjavik may be a mouthful to say, but its well worth the effort considering the city’s impressive party reputation. Beloved for its small-town vibe, Iceland’s capital city is world famous for its music scene and runtur. Literally translating to ‘round tour’ a runtur is a weekend-long pub crawl of epic proportions. Locals regularly take part in runtur, letting off steam and drinking a lot. Alcohol however, is known to be quite expensive in Reykjanik, so make like a local and pre-drink with friends before a night of bar-hopping.
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Vivacious, colourful and on fire 24/7, Rio de Janeiro is a mecca for street parties and good times. Whether you visit Rio in the heat of Carnival or attend the city’s weekend street party Lapa for a samba, you’ll love the Brazilian capital’s warm and festive atmosphere. Spend your days soaking up the sun on Rio’s famous beaches followed by a night of eating, drinking and dancing at Nossa Semhora in Copacabana or Cristal Lounge in Ipanema.
