How much to save for your holiday

It’s the age old question – how much money will I need for my holiday? London’s accommodation can be expensive but many of their attractions are free admission, while in Hong Kong food can be expensive but transport is peanuts. And don’t even get us started on the exchange rates – maths was never our strong point!

 
So to make things a little easier, we’ve listed some of your favourite travel destinations below and broken down just how much you can expect to pay on a five-night, no-frills, student-friendly style holiday (Approximately!). Granted, we’re not all the same. So keep in mind that if you like fine wine and leather bound books and five star resorts, these prices may underestimate things. It’s just a general budget guide. Don’t sue us if you end up with empty pockets and no shoes in Vegas. We never said anything about staying at the Playboy Penthouse, partying with 50 Cent  and betting it all on black.

 

For a 5 day long holiday you’ll need to save:

Calculations are approximately based on 5 nights accommodation with a Student Flights holiday deal (at time of publication), 2 meals a day at cheap cafe, daily takeaway breakfast, one daily soft drink/bottled water, two local beers per day, two tours or admission fees, two transport trips including airport transfers.
