10 signs that you’re a backpacker

Just because you own a backpack doesn’t make you a real backpacker. Not just a bag but a lifestyle, backpacking is the ultimate in living like a nomad. Where anything that’s free is worth taking advantage of and what were once necessities for daily life become luxuries you’ll never take for granted again. From hostel dorm rooms to crowded buses, cheap flights and dirty everything, some people won’t ever understand the backpacking way of life. But for others, it’s the only way to travel - the ultimate in freedom. If you fall into this category than chances are the following signs will sound familiar.

 

 

You’ve forgotten what it’s like to sleep in a room by yourself

You’ve become an expert at washing clothes in sinks

 

You struggle to write down your address and occupation on customs forms

You consider hot water a luxury

 

You’re never really sure what day it is until you see the drinks specials

 

You’d rather take advantage of a buffet breakfast than sleep in

The most used app on your phone is the currency converter

You’re ankles have a nice dirt tan and your totally fine with it

You’ve learnt the fine art of discretion in crowded dorm rooms

You’ve run out of passport pages...again
