SF Spotlight: Sunny Side Up Bali Tropical Festival
Music and cocktails poolside overlooking the beach in Bali. Hello? You had us at music and cocktails by the pool, Bali just clinches the deal. While booking a budget Bali break for you and your besties is always a good idea, time your visit to coincide with the inaugural Sunny Side Up Tropical Festival 2014, which promises an innovative music and cocktail experience. It’s all happening on Wednesday, August 20 from 2pm to 2am at Potato Head Beach Club in Seminyak and here’s why you need to be there.
The venue couldn’t be better – an architecturally designed space that imbues island living through a swim-up beachfront bar, inviting grassy lawn and an infinity pool all framed by a state-of-of-the-art amphitheatre. The striking facade is made up of vintage and antique mismatched teak doors, and handcrafted cocktails just sweeten the deal. The Seminyak club has also built a rep for amazing parties that lure big-name DJs like Justice, A-Trak and Fatboy Slim.
So far, the initial announcement sees Brit pop darling Ellie Goulding share star billing with Harlem rapper Azealia Banks and LA singer-songwriter Banks and ably supported by DJ sets from US glamour girl Jessie Andrews, Goldroom from LA and RAC (Remix Artist Collective). Say no more.
We love a good collab, and the combination of legendary bartenders flown in from hotspots around the world creating designer drinks with the stars on the festival lineup is music to our ears. The musical talent will design their own cocktails as well as serving up these concoctions to some lucky revellers at Sunny Side Up – gives new meaning to mixologists!
Ready to go? Say sayonara to winter and chat to us about flights and accommodation to Bali to be in the midst of the very first Sunny Side Up electronic music and cocktail fest.
Major dance music fans will also want to get down with some of the hottest DJ talent in Australia, so we’ve got tickets, flights and accommodation for you and a mate to the exclusive, industry-only 2014 inthemix Awards in Sydney where you can mingle with the who’s who of the Australian EDM scene.
