Best party island in Croatia?
If you’re headed to Croatia in the summertime, you’re in for some serious partying! The carefree, laid back vibe of the Croatian sailing scene has led to a super fun bar and club scene on many of Croatia’s dazzling islands. From unique clubs to all-night beach parties, there are plenty of places to party the night away, the ultimate being the island of Hvar, Europe’s sunniest island.
One of the region’s most popular destinations, Hvar is a gorgeous island of pine forests, vineyards and lavender fields. It sits centrally in the Adriatic sailing routes and has been inhabited since pre-historic times, making it rich in historic architecture. The main town, Hvar City, sits within the beautifully preserved 14th century fortified walls which tower above the harbour and surrounding sapphire sea.
Hvar’s nightlife rivals some of the best in Europe through the high season from June to September, when the town never sleeps. Here you’ll find the mother ship of Croatia’s coastal clubs, Carpe Diem, where the cocktails, smooth DJ tunes and summer vibes flow through the day and night. Swanky Carpe Diem sits smack bang in the middle of the glorious historic harbour, attracting a jet set crowd (there’s even an MIP section here – Most Important People). When the champagne’s still flowing into the early hours, the Carpe Diem boat ferries the party to Carpe Diem’s very own party island and Beach Club in the harbour. You’ll step off the boat to an epic scene of palm trees, fires, world-famous DJs, swimming pools and a magical energy. Party the night away at Cape Diem Beach Club with your new mates before being shipped back to Hvar when dawn breaks and getting some sleep in before your next big night’s adventure!

Another popular place to party all night in Hvar is the lively Veneranda Club. This historical church turned club sits on a pine covered hilltop close to the city centre, overlooking the lights of Hvar and the moonlit ocean. There’s an outdoor cinema and pizza lounge, but after 10pm the all-night disco gets started as the crowds ascend the stone staircase up to Veneranda to hit the canopy tented outdoor dance floor with DJ stage and light show projections. The award-winning architecture and landscape here is seriously impressive.
The burlesque style Pink Champagne in the centre of Hvar opens its doors from 2am-6am each morning for the apres-party crowd. This cool underground scene is home to popular resident and visiting DJ’s, as well as elegant burlesque stage shows. Kick back on a velvet lounge or party hard on the dance floor, but don’t forget to bring your sunglasses for exiting into the bright morning light.

For some relaxed apres-beach partying away from the crowds, head to the Hula Hula Beach Club on the west side of Hvar for some cocktails and soulful tunes. Kick back on a sun lounger and watch the legendary sunset, one of the best on the island.
