    Known world wide as a beer festival, Oktoberfest is actually so much more From humble beginnings as a royal wedding celebration to the almost month long Bavarian extravaganza that it has become, the 'Fest has enough beer, pork, merchandise and amusement park attractions to keep you entertained for days. Stay at the Contiki Tent Village in the heart of Oktoberfest territory, have a hot breakfast before you set out, and come and go as you please with regular shuttles to and from the 'Fest grounds. No thinking required, just have fun.

    Day 1 Munich
    Welcome to Munich Get ready for a week of fun at one of the world's most famous festivals, Oktoberfest. Arrive at the campsite any time between 8:00am & 12:00pm - our expert Contiki On-site Team will be on hand to show you to your tent & answer any questions you have. Later, if you're feeling up to it, check out Munich & get the party started

    Day 2 - 3 Munich
    There's so much to see & do in this city, so make the most of your time here. Oktoberfest has been an annual event in the Bavarian calendar for more than 200 years, so make sure you don't miss out on any of the action. Take your place at one of the festival tents & get into all that is Oktoberfest. If you're feeling like going local then girls don a Dirndl & guys get into your Lederhosen (traditional costume) to really get into the spirit. Food is also a central part of the festival & not to be missed. Try some German treats like Pretzels, Wurst, Sauerkraut or pork knuckle, there really is something to tantalise any taste buds here. If you feel like a bit of time out from the buzzing beer halls, head to the market stalls for some other German treats. A huge amusement park is also a feature of the festival so don't forget to jump on some rides while you're here. From the central Marienplatz (market square) there's heaps of other things to do & see while you're here. Located right in the heart of the city, it's a hub for shopping, has a variety of places to eat & many historic sights within easy reach. Marienplatz is also home to the Old & New Town Halls, once the centre of the political heart of Munich. There's also the spectacular Hirschgarten nearby, with its amazing 8000 seat beer garden. Don't miss out on a visit to Olympic Park, home to the 1972 Olympic Games, where you can climb the Olympic Tower for awesome city views. If seeing some history is on your agenda, then don't miss the Alter Hof, Munich's medieval castle, one of the most beautiful locations in the city. Or ask your Contiki team for some other tips on things to do in the quaint nearby towns & villages. If you're feeling like a day out & about, explore even more of Europe while you're here.     Why come all the way to Europe and not spend some quality time in the English capital? Add this package onto your other Contiki holidays and use the time to discover museums, shop on Oxford Street, eat curry on Brick Lane, see a West End show or listen to some of the hottest music coming out of England's famous nightlife. How about venturing out to Stonehenge and Bath? Well its included also Our Contiki Representatives in central London are on hand to help you out with sightseeing info and tips on getting around so you never have to stress.

    Day 1 to 3 London
    Want to do London at your own pace? Take time to explore London before or after your Contiki tour. With this 3 day package at the Royal National or Imperial hotels, grab a great value collection of extras, activities & accommodation. The London Explorer package is a bit different from our other tours, as it does not include a Tour Manager. Instead, we give you all the info you need to squeeze the max out of the city & to do it on your terms.

    With your included London info booklet, hit the streets & dive into the buzz - there are so many things to see, do & experience in London. From the iconic Big Ben to the Houses of Parliament & Buckingham Palace, there are photo opportunities at every corner. An included bus sightseeing ticket is a great way to experience the city from a different angle as you ride past the sights. With an open top, it's the best way to get some great views. It's also a hop on hop off tour, so you can enjoy the sites at your own pace. Stop off in between, maybe visit a museum, take a walking tour or just take in the vibes.

    London is famous for it's shopping, with the streets of the central city providing a haven for shopaholics. Head to Knightsbridge for a look into the most famous department store in the world, Harrods. Check out the array of delicious food on offer in their enticing food halls & amazing displays, then maybe head to Oxford Street for some high street shopping & big name brands. While you're in the area, drop by the quirky Carnaby Street where you might see some street performers or grab a coffee & take in the atmosphere.

    For a historical fix, jump on the Tube & maybe make your way to the Tower of London. Take a guided tour with one of the Yeoman Warders around one of the most famous fortified buildings in the world. You could also try the British Museum, National Gallery, the Tate or jump on the London Eye for amazing city views.

    Seeing a famous West End musical whilst you're here is a must-do & with an included ticket to a show, you will. From the dancing sensation 'Billy Elliot' to rocking it out to Queen's 'We Will Rock You' there is something for everyone.

    Day 1 London to Edinburgh
    Meet up with your fellow travellers and Tour Manager before we hit the road and head northwards. We travel through the stunning Northumberland National Park and cross the border into Scotland, pulling into the buzzing city of Edinburgh. Home to loads of music & comedy festivals, the Scottish capital serves up a fun mix of old and new. With the Fringe Festival and Military Tattoo running whilst you're in the city, as well as the Book and Jazz festivals, this vibrant city will be humming with energy, creativity and plenty to do.

    Day 2 Edinburgh
    First up, get familiar with this cultural city as your Tour Manager fills you in on the core sites of the Old and New Towns. Check out the Robbie Burns statue, the National Gallery and the Grass Market to name a few. In your free time, decide how you want to shape your Edinburgh experience and jump into this living time-line. Explore the scene-stealing Edinburgh castle, perched high up above the city on an extinct volcano, where the Scottish crown jewels and Stone of Destiny are housed. Retrace Scottish royalty's footsteps and walk the Royal Mile with its jumble of medieval houses and buildings or see the Holyrood Palace, former home to Mary Queen of Scots, infamously known as 'Bloody Mary'. At lunch, go local and order some traditional fish'n'chips and a deep fried chocolate bar if you're adventurous For a relaxed afternoon, head to Edinburgh's famous Botanical Gardens and explore 72 acres of grounds, exotic plants and stunning glass houses. Later this evening, experience the pomp and prestige of the Military Tattoo. With Edinburgh Castle serving as a stunning backdrop, take in the spectacle of pipe bands, battle re-enactments, drills, highland dancers and amazing fireworks.

    Day 3 Edinburgh
    Today use your free time to explore the Edinburgh Fringe festival - a true arts extravaganza. With around 1500 performances a day, 12 000 participants from across the globe gather in the city. With a massive selection of comedy acts, theatre performances, music, concerts and dance to choose from, there is something for everyone. For a one-stop shopping spot, make the most of Princes Street. From kilts and tartans to modern labels and cashmere, this street has it all. Make sure you visit the oldest department store in the world, Jenners, and its amazing food hall. Tonight, there's a chance to experience a hearty Scottish meal, complete with haggis and a bag piper. After dinner, round up some friends and head out into the city's pumping nightlife. There are heaps of options to choose from and your Tour Manager knows what you're after - so ask for some tips on Edinburgh's cosy pubs, basement bars and happening clubs.

    Day 4 Edinburgh to London
    After breakfast, say goodbye to Edinburgh before we cruise back to London, where the tour ends.

    Day 1 London to Pamplona
    Board your coach today & get the party started & we make our way to sunny Spain. Over the next week long adventure you'll live the legend at Pamplona's one & only San Fermin Festival with the famous Running of the Bulls. Chill out on the coach, listen to some music & chat to your new travel buddies as we journey overnight making our way south through France to Pamplona.

    Day 2 Pamplona
    Hola This afternoon we arrive in Pamplona as we get ready for the adrenalin pumping experience you're about to have. The population of Pamplona explodes for this 9 day party, known as San Fermin, with around 350,000 travellers heading to this usually quiet town to experience a slice of the bull running action for themselves. On arrival, we'll head to the campsite where your tent & airbed will be set up for you so you're ready to go (just don't forget your sleeping bag). Tonight gets the party started with our delicious dinner and sangria party

    Day 3 Pamplona - Bull Run
    Jump on a shuttle & head in to town Pamplona for your first experience of the bull run. Live it like a local & play a part in this 400 year old tradition, where bulls are let loose through the city streets. This buzzing atmosphere is guaranteed to be a once in a lifetime experience Don your red & white gear if you're game enough to get amongst it - or steer clear as a spectator - the vibes are just as exciting. After the run, choose to stay around town, or you could take it easy too - relax back at the campsite & top up your tan by the pool. You can take it up a level tonight, there's loads of fun at the campsite or stick around town at a local spot or see a bull fight as the shuttle service runs late into the night.

    Day 4 Pamplona - Closing Ceremony
    Jump back on a shuttle & head back to Pamplona for the final run and experience the buzzing atmosphere of the closing ceremony tonight if you're keen. It's guaranteed to be a once in a lifetime experience. Referred to as the 'Pobre de Mi' - the official closing ceremony takes place in front of the Town Hall at midnight. Party until the end & maybe learn the closing song off the locals so you can really join in After the shop shutters close, the San Fermin is over - so head back to the campsite for some well needed sleep

    Day 5 - 6 Pamplona to London
    After a late breakfast, it's time to farewell the sun & good times. Jump back on the coach & snooze or hang out with your travel buddies & re-live the awesome memories from the last few days as we start the journey back to London through France. On arrival in London this afternoon, make sure you swap addresses with your new buddies as the tour ends upon arrival.
