Board a luxury glass-roofed coach in Queenstown and travel along the shores of Lake Wakatipu and through rolling countryside to Te Anau.     You’ve got a free day to explore some of what the Bay of Islands has to offer! And trust us when we say there’s a wealth of optional activities. Drive along 90 Mile Beach all the way to Cape Reinga, where the Tasman Sea meets the Pacific and try boarding down the towering sand dunes is a great rush! Cruise around the inner Bay aboard a catamaran and spot some dolphins, or just paddle through the mangroves to Haruru Falls by kayak. You may wish to learn a little of the region’s history with a visit to Russell (NZ’s oldest settlement) or the Waitangi Treaty House. Maybe you’d just like to get back to nature with a hike to Haruru Falls through the gorgeous natural landscape. We’ll regroup for dinner and share the day’s experiences! (B, D)

    Today at Fox Glacier we'll give you the opportunity to walk on this slowly moving river of ice There are plenty of optional extras on offer such as a halfday guided hike - get an insight into the way the glacier, the surrounding rainforest and nearby mountains fit together in this stunning locale or get higher up the glacier with a helihike. This afternoon we regroup and continue north, passing through the town of Franz Josef to the rugged beauty of the 'Wild West Coast'.     DAY 2: Paihia, Bay Of Islands.
    It's a free day to explore and make the most of your time here. There are a wealth of optional activities. Drive along 90 Mile Beach to Cape Reinga the very top of the North Island where the Tasman Sea meets the Pacific Cruise the inner Bay aboard a catamaran or paddle through the mangroves to Haruru Falls by kayak (all optional). Maybe you'd just like to get back to nature with a hike to Haruru Falls through the gorgeous natural landscape.

    DAY 3: Bay of Islands to Rotorua Marae Experience.
    It's back to Auckland for lunch before we meet some new additions to our group and head to the heart to Rotorua. Tonight we'll be staying in a traditional Maori Marae for an evening filled with culture, history and legend.

    DAY 4: Marae to Taupo.
    First up is Whakarewarewa Village and Thermal Reserve before spending the day exploring Rotorua at your own pace. In the afternoon we head for Taupo, home to NZ's largest lake. On the way we'll pass the thundering Huka Falls and the Wairakei geo-thermal area.

    DAY 5: Taupo.
    The day is yours to explore hundreds of stunning natural spots. Hike the Alpine Crossing at Tongariro National Park on a daytrip or get the heart racing with the Taupo bungy (both optional). Nearer to Taupo enjoy the naturally heated waters of Spa Park, or just hang by the lake.

    DAY 6: Taupo to Wellington.
    On our journey south we'll pass through the rural heartland of the North Island and along the Kapiti Coast. We hit Wellington in the afternoon, making a quick stop at the top of Mt Victoria for an awesome view of the city's harbour.

    DAY 7: Wellington.
    Take a day to explore the capital, with plenty of activities on offer in the Windy City. Learn some Kiwi history with a visit to Te Papa, the interactive National Museum.
