The most visited country in Europe, France seems to have received an extraordinary grant of beauty – from its quaint villages, stunning mountain ranges to the exquisite beaches and cities that are among the most beautiful anywhere on earth. And of all the cities on earth there is no city more spoken of than Paris, renowned for it's beauty, its unchallenged sense of style, it's love affair with art and of course it's magnificent cuisine. This is a city synonymous with passion, culture and love. It’s in Paris that you will find many of the world's best know sights - the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the Musee de Louvre, Notre-Dame, and the Sacré Coeur, as well abundant and delightful Parisian cafes and brasseries for the "city of lights" is famous.
The fabulous French Riviera is well know for its glamorous and lively nightlife, sun kissed beaches and chic resorts, such as Cannes and St Tropez. Along with neighbouring Monaco, the 160 kilometre-long Côte d’Azur attracts the rich and famous, as well as artists drawn by the inspiration of its hillside beauty and sultry climate. Head to La Croisette in Cannes to see the beautiful people at play, or take lunch in the lively Place aux Herbes in fashionable St Tropez. Try your luck in Le Grande Casino in Monaco or visit out the home of the Monaco’s royal family at 13th-century Palais du Prince.
The city of Nice has long been the famous centre of the French Riviera. Relax with a cool drink, next to the Mediterranean, then stroll the streets to take in the beautiful art deco facades in the sun. Don't miss the famous Cours Saleya Flower Market, packed with flowers and surrounded by cafes and stylish shops.
Further into regional France, Avignon, a former seat of the Popes, is an amazing medieval city where you can wander a maze of narrow streets and stroll the low fortified wall that runs unbroken for nearly five kilometres. In beautiful Aix-en- Provence, stroll the majestic tree-lined Cours Mirabeau into fountained squares crowded with 16th- century architecture and explore a labyrinth of tiny lanes lined with cafes, restaurants and shops. In Lyon, explore the cobblestone streets of ‘Vieux Lyon’, which is a designated World Heritage Site and wander past 17th and 18th-century mansions and museums to the Basilique de Notre-Dame.
There’s nothing that quite says ‘romance’ like staying in a real fairytale castle... particularly when it’s in one of the romantic countries in the world. Treat yourself to the ultimate stay in a chateau in regional France for holiday memories you’ll treasure forever.
