Belgrade Currency Guide
Belgrade uses Serbian Dinars. The Euro is also widely accepted.
ATMs are very common in Belgrade, complete with English prompts, and the majority accept MasterCard and Visa. Notify your banking institution of your intention to travel before you leave for security purposes and to check whether your card will be accepted in Belgrade machines.
Some Serbian exchange kiosks may refuse damaged or tatty money – make sure all notes are in good condition if you intend to keep a variety of currencies in your wallet. Euros are easier to convert than Australian Dollars in Belgrade. Euros are available to pre-purchase from Travel Money Oz before you fly.
If you don’t have a credit card, or want to carry your money in a variety of formats, consider taking a travel money card with you. A Cash Passport will allow you to pre-load Euros and other major currencies to use in ATMs in Belgrade and wherever MasterCard is accepted.
