Boston Currency Guide
Boston uses the US Dollar.
ATMs can be found in a wide range of locations in Boston such as on the street, shopping centres and transport hubs. Be sure to always carry cash as a backup in case the power goes down, the ATM is out of order, or you lose or break your plastic. If you plan on withdrawing money or using your credit card while travelling, don’t forget to notify your bank before you go for security purposes and check what international withdrawal fees may apply to your card.
Before you travel it is important to convert some of your Australian Dollars into US Dollars to have with you when you arrive. US Dollars are available to pre-purchase from Travel Money Oz before you fly.
If you plan on shopping up a storm in Boston, consider bringing a credit card or travel money card with you instead of carrying a lot of cash. If you don't have a credit card, consider a prepaid Multi-currency Cash Passport™ , which lets you access your money in the form of US Dollars from ATMs and use like a credit card wherever MasterCard® is accepted.
