Bratislava Transport Guide
Slovakia’s capital is a true walking city - a cosy destination wrapped nicely in a network of connecting roads, wide lanes and pedestrian centres. However there’s also other options for travelling further afield.
How to get around Bratislava
Public transport in Bratislava consists of trams, trains, trolley buses and buses. Trams are by far the faster option as buses roll around on set routes – you can request a special stop is if it’s marked 'zastávka na znamenie'. If you miss your stop, it won’t matter much as everything is close together. Single journey tickets are only valid for 15 minutes; return tickets give you 60 minutes on weekdays and 90 minutes on weekends to play with. Walk when you can and limit your taxi trips to emergencies only.
