Canada Currency Guide
Canada uses the Canadian Dollar.
ATMs can be found all throughout Canada, particularly outside banks, on main streets and in shopping centres in the city areas, and at most petrol stations if you're travelling around the country. If you plan on withdrawing money or using your credit card while travelling, don't forget to notify your bank before you go for security purposes and to see what international withdrawal fees may apply to your bankcard.
Before you leave home, it is important to convert some of your Australian Dollars into Canadian Dollars to have with you when you arrive. Canadian Dollars are available to pre-purchase from Travel Money Oz before you fly.
For large purchases, it's a good idea to bring a credit card or travel money card with you on your Canadian holiday instead of carrying a lot of cash. If you don't have a credit card, consider a pre-paid Cash Passport, which lets you access your money in the form of Canadian Dollars from ATMs and use wherever MasterCard is accepted.
