Dublin Currency Guide
Dublin uses the Euro.
ATMs can be found throughout the Dublin city centre. ATM machines are usually attached to walls in well-lit public areas as well as in large shops, banks and service stations on major roads and in main areas. If you plan on withdrawing money or using your credit card while travelling, don't forget to notify your bank before you go for security purposes and to check what international withdrawal fees may apply to your card.
Before you leave home, it is important to convert some of your Australian Dollars into Euros to have with you when you arrive. Euros are available to pre-purchase from Travel Money Oz before you fly.
If you’d like the security that a credit card offers without the risk of racking up debt on your travels, consider purchasing a prepaid travel money card. A Multi-currency Cash Passport™ allows you to load your money onto the card in the form of Euros and other popular currencies. Your money can then be accessed at ATMs like a debit card or used wherever MasterCard® is accepted. The Multi-currency Cash Passport card has both a security pin and a signature required for safe spending.
