Fiji Transport Guide

Getting from the pool to the beach may be as simple as walking, but to see more of the 322 islands of Fiji, you're going to need to find alternative transport. Most holidaymakers will enter Fiji via Nadi International Airport. Here are some of the best transport options for vacationers of all types.

How to get around Fiji

Much like the atmosphere in general, transport in Fiji is relaxed. If you've got time to spare and are keen to explore the biggest islands of Vanua Levu or Viti Levu for yourself where you'll find 90 percent of Fiji's roads, consider hiring a car. Otherwise, most resorts will offer shuttle and ferry transport to nearby attractions and surrounding islands. Public buses are also another option and can usually be hailed just on the road without the need to be at a bus stop on Fiji's main islands. Taxis and minivan taxis are also available on the main islands of Viti Levu, Vanua Levu and Taveuni. To travel between the islands, charter boats and domestic airlines allow you to island-hop your way around the nation.
