Florence Currency Guide
Florence uses the Euro.
ATMs or bancomats can be found in a wide range of locations and public spaces in Florence. Be sure to always carry cash as a backup in case the power goes down, the ATM is out of order, or you lose or break your plastic. If you plan on withdrawing money or using your credit card while travelling, don’t forget to notify your bank before you go for security purposes and check what international withdrawal fees may apply to your card.
Before you travel, it is important to convert some of your Australian Dollars into Euros to have with you when you arrive. Euros are available to pre-purchase from Travel Money Oz before you fly. You can also change your Aussie Dollars once you land at banks, post offices and cambios (foreign exchange offices).
For large purchases, it’s a good idea to bring a credit card or travel card with you on your holiday instead of carrying a lot of cash. If you don’t have a credit card, consider a prepaid travel money card, such as a Multi-currency Cash Passport™ , which lets you access your money in the form of Euros and other currencies from ATMs and also use as a credit card wherever MasterCard® is accepted.
