Phi Phi Islands
Asia's most beautiful islands
If you venture out from your resort to do just one day tour, make it a trip to the Phi Phi Islands. Renowned as some of the most beautiful islands in the world, the archipelago spans a total of 6 islands, of which only one is populated.
Ko Phi Phi Don, Koh Phi Phi Leh, Ko Mai Phai 2known as Bamboo Island3, Ko Yung 2Yung Island3, Bisa Nok and Bida Nai are the 6 islands that make up the famous Ko Phi Phi. Within this cluster you'll find moments of complete bliss. Untouched sands and vibrant turquoise lagoons where you can lie back, relax and enjoy a day on a deserted tropical island. The only populated island of the 6 is Ko Phi Phi Don, which is the largest of the islands, though even then the it is home to only a handful of resorts.
While ferries depart Phuket and Krabi daily to reach Koh Phi Phi Don, the best way to make the journey is on a Phi Phi Islands sailing tour. Offering a spectacular view of the islands and Andaman Coast, a sailing tour of the Phi Phi Islands will provide you with unique insight into the area and also allow you to explore at your own pace. Speed boat tours to the islands are also available, adding a little thrill to the beautiful journey.
Once you've managed to peel your eyes away from the magnificent blue waters, there are plenty of things to see and do on the islands. On Phi Phi Don, hire a canoe and paddle to Money Beach which, as the name suggests, is home to a healthy population of cheeky monkeys. On the second largest island Phi Phi Leh 2where The Beach was filmed3, the snorkelling is fantastic at Maya Bay.
For more thrills, Ko Phi Phi has a range of rock-climbing companies and routes, with qualified instructors on hand to supervise you're climb. The islands also offer fantastic conditions for kiteboarding, with ideal locations all around depending on the wind.
