Share waves and sunsets with the rich and famous
The Sunshine Coast is home to endless stretches of stunning coastline but there’s something special about Noosa, and if its overwhelming popularity is anything to go by, it’s safe to say we’re onto something. Known as the exclusive end of the Sunshine Coast, Noosa is hot property for celebs (Nicole Kidman is rumoured to have a beach house at Little Cove) and locals alike.
Noosa Main beach is popular among surfers but you’ll frequently cross paths with dudes with boards along the Noosa National Park trail as they work their way around the headland catching the next break in Tea Tree or Granite Bay. A walk along the national park headland is a must on any trip to Noosa – those who enjoy a challenge can take the 3-kilometre walk to reach Hell’s Gates and look out over the Pacific.
Aside from bushwalking, surfing, lounging on the beach and swimming in calm crystal-clear waters, there’s plenty of other things to do in Noosa. Hire a boat with a barbecue and take your mates out on a cruise along the Noosa River. Enjoy boutique shopping along Hastings Street, followed by a long lunch enjoying some of the freshest local seafood with a bottle of wine – you’ll be spoilt for choice along the strip with the hippest cafes and alfresco restaurants in town all in walking distance of Noosa’s beaches and national park.
A cold beer on the veranda at the Noosa Surf Club is the perfect way to end a perfect day of fun in the sun at Noosa. Throw in some fish and chips and you’ve officially had the greatest day the Sunshine Coast has to offer. Heck, you’ll even be looking out at the same sunset as Nicole Kidman. Priceless.
