Venice Currency Guide
The currency used in Venice is the Euro.
ATMs can be found in a wide range of locations in Venice. If you plan on withdrawing money during your holiday, be sure to tell your bank your travel dates before you go. Also keep in mind that international ATM withdrawal fees for Australian cards can be expensive, so you may also want to consider checking how much your bank will charge you.
Before you arrive in Venice, be sure to exchange some of your Australian Dollars into Euros to bring with you. This can be done at a range of currency exchange outlets such as Travel Money Oz, which does not charge fees or commissions.
In addition to cash, consider bringing a credit card with you on your Venice holiday for safe spending. If you don't have a credit card, it's a good idea to purchase a prepaid travel money card. A Multi-currency Cash Passport™ allows you to load your money onto the card in the form of Euros, which can then be accessed at various ATMS and used wherever MasterCard® is accepted.
