Zagreb Transport Guide
Zagreb has an efficient public transport system made up of buses, commuter rail and trams. You can also hire a car here as the roads are pretty safe and easy to navigate. But, if you’d like to really take in the sights, hire a bike and cruise around Zagreb yourself.
How to get around Zagreb
Trams and buses are the most efficient way to get around with 19 inner-city tramlines and around 120 bus routes traversing the city. At the main bus station, you’ll find an information centre which is generally staffed by someone who can speak a little bit of English. Trains mainly cover the east and west of Zagreb, and you can also take a trip out of town with the long-distance train service. If you plan on using a lot of public transport, it’s a good idea to buy a ZET value card, which can be used for travel on all zones and lines. If you’d rather make your own way, there are plenty of places you can hire a car or a bicycle, as well as plenty of metered taxis available.
