Africa’s grandest gathering

Nearly 40,000 lovers of jazz come together for a weekend of electrifying music at the Cape Town Jazz Festival. Dubbed ‘Africa’s grandest gathering’, Cape Town Jazz Festival is the largest jazz festival in Africa and the forth largest in the world. The event features 40 acts, half South African and half international, across five stages throughout the two-day event. Past heavy hitters include Mos Def, Buena Vista Social Club, Lauryn Hill, Herbie Hancock and Ravi Coltrane. In addition to the sweet vibes, Cape Town Jazz Festival hosts a photographic exhibition said to capture the ‘essence of jazz in motion’, a fashion festival with textiles sourced from local suppliers and a golf day dedicated to community projects.
