Sounds of US Summer
Attracting almost 200,000 people over two weeks in April, Coachella is a record-breaking festival and a once in a lifetime US summer experience. This monster festival attracts hipsters from around the globe, with most big-name celebrities making the trip to the Empire Polo Field in Indio, California to rock out to the indie, hip hop, rock and electronic dance music beats. There are also art works and installations on display.
Coachella showcases the big, popular names, as well as emerging artists you’ll grow to love after seeing them live. Some past acts include Bjork, ACDC, Amy Winehouse, Dr. Dre, George Ezra, Daft Punk, The Killers and Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Det in the searing desert just outside of Palm Springs (plan for searing hot days and cool nights), Coachella is one of the most famous and biggest festivals in the world. Camp on site on the lush ground of the polo field, or take in the Coachella Valley and book a nearby hotel, or camping site and catch a shuttle bus in. This is a festival to see and be seen, so make sure you take some time out from the mind-blowing lineups and get your people watching on.

Tips and tricks
-
Pack toilet paper. Not pleasant, but almost 200,000 people over three days and someone is bound to run out.
-
Plan for high temps and searing sun by day, and cool nights. Pack light clothes and something warm.
-
Dust is a fact of life at Coachella. Keep some wet wipes handy for those times when the line-up for the showers is just too long.
-
Need we remind you again how hot it can get during the day at Coachella? Bring sunscreen, hats and water bottles and drink more water than you think you’ll need. Dehydration is a real issue at Coachella.
-
Get appy! Coachella has its own app for weather, maps, meal-planning, social media, schedules. The Desert Sun app can keep you updated on local traffic, weather, crime, and entertainment news.
-
In the darkness of night, after a day of sun, alcohol and dancing all the tents will look the same, so make sure you pack a torch, or a key-ring torch so you can find your way.
