Flights from Australia to North America usually disembark at major hubs like Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) in New York. Over to your South American adventure, there are regular flights arriving at many international airports including Buenos Aires’s Ministro Pistarini International (EZE), Rio de Janeiro’s Galeao – Antonio Carlos Jobim International (GIG), Santiago’s Comodoro Arturo Merino Benitez International (SCL) and Lima’s Jorge Chavez International (LIM). A mixture of public transport options, private transfers, shuttles and cabs are available depending on where you land and where you want to go!
Direct flights from Australia to North America usually depart from Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne as well as other services from most capital cities. From Sydney to Los Angeles, the non-stop flying time is around 15 hours, while flights to Vancouver from Brisbane take around 14.5 hours. Other flights may be longer if they include a stopover, most likely in Australia, New Zealand or the States. Direct flights from Australia to South and Central America depart from capital cities with the flight time from Sydney to Santiago, Chile, just shy of 13 hours. Flights from other capital cities require a short stop across the ditch in beautiful Auckland or Dubai - a great opportunity to explore a different city for a few days or just continue straight on your journey.
