Vodkatrain journeys bring together travellers, Honchos (that the Vodkatrain guides) and personal local encounters to offer cultural experiences that get right to the heart of why they love travel.

The company is the funky brainchild of Sundowners Overland, which has over 50 years of overland Asia travel experience — those hippies. Tailored to 18- to 35-year-olds (even the staff have an average age of just 25), Vodkatrain offers a range of group or independent overland journey travel options with a focus on experiencing cities with the locals, like the locals.

Head across Russia, Mongolia, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and India onboard the Trans Mongolian Railway and along the Silk Road. Travel with the locals; experience cities with local hip, young and happening Honchos (more than just a tour guide); eat out; and get around at local prices. For a tour, it’s pretty laidback. You travel the trains with fellow guests, a maximum of 15 per group, and meet a Honcho at each new destination.

While Vodkatrain provides visa support, comfortable accommodation, transport, transfers and local Honchos, you decide what you want to see and do along the way.
