So, when is Schoolies 2019?

The big question is where will you celebrate in 2019?

Sure, there’s the usual suspects—Gold Coast Schoolies and Byron Bay Schoolies—and with good reason—who doesn’t love sundrenched, fun-filled East Coast action? If you’re looking for something in the great South, head to Lorne for chilled out beach vibes by day and parties by night. Thinking further afield? Wanderlusting Schoolies don their backpack in search of adventure overseas—from catching waves in Bali to hanging with the locals in Cambodia. 

Here’s our top 15 must-do Schoolies bucket list activities

1. BBQ on the beach in Lorne

Set-up camp for sundown with mates and good food and drinks and enjoy the view as the waves come rolling in. Pack your portable speaker and an instant beach party awaits!

2. Get Wet N Wild on the Gold Coast

At the theme park! What better way to let off some steam then plummeting down a waterslide for LOLs.

3. Nightlife in Kuta, Bali

Bali Schoolies has some of the best parties out there—with your Schoolies Bali party-pass you’ll get VIP access to the hottest venues in town.

4. Learn to surf in Byron Bay

If you’ve always wanted to learn to surf, Byron Bay is pretty idyllic place to do it. Amazing beaches and excellent waves—you’ll be hanging ten in no time.

Want a feel-good Schoolies that involves building a house up instead of tearing it down (on the dance floor me mean)? Don’t get us wrong—there’s plenty of good times to be had in Cambodia, but you’ll trade your beach towel for hammer head as you volunteer building houses for local villages, making friends with the locals in the process.

7. Get amongst the wildlife on Phillip Island

Schoolies on Phillip Island is a unique experience—one where you can get up and close to the wildlife (and we don’t just mean your follow Schoolies revelers)! We mean the wealth of native wildlife on and around the island, from seals to whales and famous Phillip Island penguins! Try not to have too much fun impersonating the penguin walk on your way back from the night’s entertainment!

8. Get some instaworthy pics on the Great Ocean Road, Lorne

Take a day trip from Lorne to explore the Great Ocean Road, with amazing photo opportunities at the Twelve Apostles and more, you’ll come away with a dose of sheer Aussie scenic beauty.

9. Get some culture, Bali

If you can tear yourself away from the Kuta beach clubs, head to Ubud to see the famous Monkey Forest, and explore the beautiful temples in Canggu, Tanah Lot and Uluwatu.

10. Shop to you drop at Pacific Fair on the Gold Coast

There’s shopping—and then there’s shopping at Pacific Fair, the Sunshine State’s largest shopping centre. Home to mega brands H&M, Sephora, UNIQLO and Zara—if retail therapy is what you need, this is the place to spend your (or your parents) hard earned cash.

11. Hit the slopes in Japan

That’s right, you can trade sand for snow by taking your Schoolies break in Japan! Say Konnichiwa to the land of the rising sun as you explore Hakuba ski resort—suitable for all skier levels, you can shred by day then experience Japanese food, culture and fun by night!

Nothing says freedom like swimming with a dolphin, amiright? Schoolies on the Mornington Peninsula has loads of scenic natural wonders and chilled out activities to explore by day—including a magical dive with the dolphins!

13. Attend the Hilton Surfers Paradise Resort Pool Party

Gold Coast Schoolies revelers, get in quick—this official Schoolies Party is a the 5-star Hilton pool is the hottest ticket in town. Join hundreds of schoolie pals fun in the sun with poolside DJs.

14. Go sand-boarding at Port Stephens

Yep, in Port Stephens it’s not just about the idyllic beaches—there’s sand to be surfed too. Head to Worimi and hit up some sand boarding action. You can even take a camel or horse ride, and even a quad bike adventure along the dunes!

15. Schoolies Nation Beach Festival, Surfers Paradise

Yep, there are plenty of epic things to do a Australia’s largest Schoolies destination, and the stand out event has to be the Schoolies Nation beach party—join 10,000 other schoolies for a dance party to remember with headlining DJs dropping beats right on the beach.
